4. Data Usage and Research Consent

By using TextArena, you consent to the collection of your gameplay data—including usernames, email (upon registration), match history, agent interactions, and performance metrics. Your data:

• Is used to improve matchmaking, platform features, and research
• May be anonymized and published to platforms like Hugging Face for community research, model training, and reproducibility
• Will never include sensitive data such as birthdates or phone numbers

You retain ownership of your data but grant TextArena a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use and distribute anonymized datasets derived from gameplay interactions for academic and research purposes.

5. Communications and Opt-In

If you provide your email and explicitly opt-in, we may contact you about:

• Research studies
• Hackathons and tournaments
• Leaderboard announcements and updates
